The methodologies that act as a facilitator of learning and that go beyond traditional classes are being increasingly sought after by teachers and well accepted by students. Field activities can enrich the teaching and learning process, as students can visualize concepts that previously seemed abstract. The Conservation Units are spaces that present a high richness of species of fauna and flora. The present work aims to describe the report of a field activity carried out in a Conservation Unit and to analyze the advantages that this type of activity has in relation to the academic training of future biologists. Therefore, the research methodology used in this study was of a qualitative nature of the case study type. The study showed that practical activities have a certain benefit for academic training, when students can have the opportunity to dialogue with and practice the theoretical concepts previously acquired. This activity can also make students aware of their career, as they learn about other possibilities for areas to follow. Thus, it is concluded that practical activities and field trips are important and necessary for the training of future biologists as they enrich their knowledge about the area of interest and also facilitate their learning/training process.
