Thus, the work aimed to describe the main difficulties encountered in the use of PPE and analyze the guidelines on the correct use of these equipment by health professionals. The methodology was developed through a literature review involving the capture of scientific publications in Portuguese related to the proposed topic. From the consultation of the databases, 30 articles were obtained through the applied search criteria. After reading the titles and abstracts, 08 studies that were not in accordance with the theme of the research's guiding question were excluded, totaling 22 articles in the initial screening and which were included in the synthesis because they were relevant to this review.
