Coffee is a culture of importance in the Brazilian economy and the country occupies the first place in world production. The coffee tree can suffer losses in productivity, due to the occurrence of climatic factors, phytosanitary problems and attack by pest insects. Leucoptera coffeella is the main pest that attacks the coffee tree, due to the injuries that the caterpillar causes on the leaf. The objective of this research was to evaluate the incidence of the miner bug in different varieties and coffee management systems. The incidence assessment of the miner bug was carried out in Três Corações and Jesuânia, in the months of September and October, in coffee trees of different varieties grown in the conventional, irrigated and organic systems. The areas were divided into uniform plots and for each variety 20 plants were evaluated, randomly sampling 10 branches of the middle third, analyzing two leaves from the third and/or fourth pair of leaves per branch in a randomized design. In the organic system, the Catuaí variety had a predation rate of 1.28% and a damaged leaf area of 1.67%, higher values in relation to the Arara variety, and for the infestation index, the values did not differ statistically. In the irrigated system, the Mundo Novo variety had an infestation rate of 1.73%, a higher number in relation to the other varieties analyzed. In the conventional system, the Mundo Novo variety had the highest rate of infestation, with 2.23% and the highest AFD rate, with 1.84%. The Arara variety showed the highest rate of predation, with 1.50%. Thus, it can be concluded that coffee varieties present differences in relation to the infestation of miner bug, damaged leaf area and predation in different management systems.
