Abstract

Nurses must be a professional capable of transforming their environment, so their training must provide opportunities for the development of skills and abilities for the effective performance of activities under their responsibility, taking into account the well-being of women and the identification of breast cancer. breast at the earliest possible time. To analyze the role of nurses in both the prevention and identification of breast cancer. Material and Methods: This study is a literature review, will be included in the study articles related to the role of nurses in the prevention and identification of breast cancer, with publication date between the period 2015 to 2021, the PubMed research platforms, SciELO, Google Scholar and Lilacs. Results and discussion: There was a selection of 8 articles to be analyzed in the theoretical discussion of this work, taking into account the role of nurses in the prevention and identification of breast cancer, because the nurse is the professional trained to carry out the nursing consultation, guidance on self-examination. It is concluded that nurses are essential for guidance, prevention and detection of breast cancer, because they can, through anamnesis, provide complete care and actually prevent breast cancer.
