Abstract

The ESF - Family Health Strategy aims to prevent diseases related to the family, in the field of women's health, breast cancer prevention is performed only in the campaign months in most of the country, which contributes to evolution of patients in early stages, so it is important that nurses assist the patient and carry out the preventive process assiduously throughout the year. To analyze the steps of nursing care in the prevention of breast cancer and awareness to perform the exam in the FHS. This is an integrative literature review, the databases used are: NCBI/PubMed (National Center for BiotechnologyInformation), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Lirary Online), Academic Google and Lilacs - Bireme (Latin American Literature and the Caribbean in Health Sciences). To delimit the contents, inclusion criteria were used: articles available in full, in Portuguese, published in the period from 2013 to 2021 with free access and dealing with the topic. It was shown that nurses work hard to prevent breast cancer during the month of October, and that there is a need to strengthen this prevention through professional guidance and testing such as mammography, blood tests and other pertinent to the identification of diseases. It was found the need for preventive nursing to become a daily practice in the ESF, because the months of awareness are important to carry out female preventives, but this attention to women's health needs to be constant, with the nurse as a professional closer to this reality, which should produce ethical and professional skills in the guidance of women.
