The environmental impacts caused by fish farming can lead to changes in aquatic ecosystems and especially in fish communities. In this article we aim to investigate the possible changes caused by the construction of nurseries in beds of Amazonian streams on the trophic chains of the natural fish communities of Central Amazonia. The study sites were in the municipalities of Novo Airão and Presidente Figueiredo (Amazonas). Fish sampling (without pisciculture) was carried out in the igarapés with pisciculture and without pisciculture, according to the methodology established and in paralel we performed limnological analyzes. The species were classified into trophic categories. We performed comparative analyzes between richness, abundance and total biomass per igarapé (stream) and sampled site and later, we performed principal component analyzes (PCA) in the trophic categories, in order to verify changes in the structure of the trophic categories between the points studied. A total of 2302 fish were collected. The results related to the physical and chemical variables were similar to those described for Amazonian aquatic environments. The trophic categories for the sites presented similarity to the one described in the literature, with food preference for the non - native insects. It was not possible to affirm that changes in the trophic categories could be occurring due to the fish farming activity in streams channels.Downloads
