The impacts from anthropic activities on ecosystems have raised major concerns about the quantity, quality and availability of natural resources, which are essential resources for human life and well-being. In this way the ecosystems are increasingly susceptible as well as the goods and services offered by them. Therefore, the present work had as main objective to present the main discussions on ecosystem services, having addressed the concepts of ecosystem services, classification and mapping of ecosystem services.
