The dairy activity in Brazil is responsible for moving the economy of numerous cities, contributing to the distribution of income and generating permanent jobs, especially in the rural area. However, it is an activity that consumes a lot of water and generates a large amount of effluents, which, if handled improperly, can cause deleterious effects to plants, the watercourse and the soil. In this sense, crop fertigation has become an alternative form of treatment and final disposal. Thus, this study aimed to determine the productivity and health of Mombaça grass by applying different doses of dairy effluent to provide sodium levels equal to 75, 150, 300 and 600 kg ha-1 year-1. For the conditions of the experiment and according to the results obtained, it was concluded that increments in the doses of dairy effluent provided an increase in the production of fresh and dry mass of Mombaça grass1 of sodium resulted in higher yields than those of the Witness Treatment. Regarding the sanitary aspects, there is absence of thermotolerant coliforms in all treatments evaluated and that the total coliform count did not differ statistically between the treatments evaluated; considering aspects and cost of production, Treatment T4 (fertigation providing 600 kg ha-1 year-1) becomes a new recommendation to be used in the fertigation of Mombaça grass.
