Beef livestock is an extremely important production chain for the national scenario, it has a great representation in the economy, being responsible for 9.2% of agribusiness exports. The activity is carried out in all states of the country in the most different types of production systems. There is a projection that, 3 to 10 years from now, there will be an increase in the demands of the domestic and foreign markets and production will have to be leveraged by around 45% to guarantee supply to the markets. The objective of the present study was to carry out a systematic review of the literature on beef cattle in Brazil, using the Web of Science data platform, from 2012 to 2021, using the method recommended by Cronin et al. (2008). Through inclusion and exclusion criteria, 23 works were selected and analyzed that present a qualitative and quantitative research approach, with the adoption of experimental procedures, field, case study, with survey, among other data collection techniques that were aligned with the scope of the research. The literature analysis made it possible to identify and describe relevant aspects present in scientific research on the theme and object of study, evidencing similarities and differences between the studies. In addition, it was observed that the works range from production to commercialization, focusing on cost management and profitability of the activity.
