This study aimed to identify the main insects associated to Ficus benjamina L. by evaluating interactions and possible damage in the urban afforestation of Cuiabá, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Insect collection was carried out during a 12-month period in four areas of the urban perimeter, with biweekly survey of the chosen trees. The Constancy Index was applied to the collected insect species. In the sampled areas the following orders were identified Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, Blattodea:Isoptera, Lepidoptera and Thysanoptera. Total 36 species, 58.33% Hymenoptera, 22.22% Coleoptera, 8.33% Thysanoptera, Lepidoptera and Blattodea:Isoptera with 5.55% each. The species Androthrips ramachandrai (Karny, 1926), Brachymyrmex patagonicus (Mayr, 1868), Camponotus crassus (Mayr, 1862), Camponotus novogranadensis (Mayr, 1870), Gynaikothrips uzeli (Zimmermann, 1900), Pheidole flavens (Roger, 18) Solenopsis invicta (Buren, 1972) were common to the sampled environments. No species was constant in the four environments studied, the variation in environmental conditions may have differently affected the species.
