Analysis of different sources of water treated by reverse osmosis for application in industrial boilers

In view of the need for alternative sources of water for use, new tools are being studied to optimize and expand the possibilities of using water for activities such as agriculture, livestock and industries. Boilers are industrial instruments that have water as their main source, and are present in several processes that propel the economy. The operation of the boilers is adequate according to NR-13 and the classifications are given according to the operating pressure level, optimizing its operation and making it safer, however, the quality of the operating fluid must be analyzed, having to be framed in certain physical-chemical and microbiological parameters to avoid bad quality vapors, damage to boilers and accidents. Through research, it was possible to carry out an analysis and comparison of laboratory results obtained from samples of waters treated by reverse osmosis, with an integrative review being carried out. The results showed efficiency in the process of reverse osmosis to remove salts and oxides, particulates and dissolved elements, some analyzes indicated the presence of total and fecal coliforms, indicating the need for studies on the negative impact that can cause in boilers due to their presence as well as external factors that led to this result. In addition, it became possible to emphasize the need for research related to minimizing damage regarding the implementation of the reverse osmosis system.
