Abstract

In civil engineering, foundation is that element that receives the weight of the structure and has the function of evenly distributing through its base to the ground. The foundations are divided into two groups: shallow and deep. It is the first part to be built and that makes direct contact with the ground. They are used as a base for constructions and of different sizes, being constructed mostly of reinforced concrete and close to the surface level of the terrain. Nowadays computer programs are linked directly to the day-to-day of civil engineers, making it easier for them to work. This work intends to make software development coupled to MS Excel for shoe foundation scaling isolated through Visual Basic for VBA application. VBA is a tool that came from the VB (Visual Basic) language which is based on the BASIC language, which is a high level language. VBA was developed to be present in applications of Microsoft Office, like: Excel, PowerPoint, Word and others. The purpose of the program is to design an insulated shoe and, finally, to detail the reinforcement so that designers can work quickly and efficiently. The program can also be used not only to create foundations projects but also to edit projects running, making projects more competitive because only two programs are needed: Autodesk AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel, two very important tools in the daily life of the civil engineer.
