Brazil is one of the countries that produces more oilseeds in its crops, this factor makes the country one of the largest producers of biodiesel in the world, in addition, it is important to point out that the country has both common oilseeds and alternatives to the production of biodiesel, which can diversify the materials used to produce the biofuel, in addition, the use of biodiesel is a favorable vector in the mitigation of environmental damage, since components that use biodiesel emit particulates with small amounts of sulfur and reduced emissions of CO2. The objective of this work was to carry out an integrative review about the main and alternative oilseeds for the production of biodiesel in the country, evaluating the literature regarding the diversity of oilseeds, the characteristics of each plant and the physicochemical parameters studied. The results obtained took into account two main parameters, which were the acidity index and the kinematic viscosity at 40ºC, the integrative review data allowed to prove that the biodiesel that was in accordance with all the parameters established by the ANP was sunflower biodiesel, Another important parameter in the analysis of biodiesel is stability to oxidation, sunflower biodiesel was also improved regarding this parameter, thus, sunflower biodiesel proved to be the most effective in the production of biodiesel.
