The objective of the work was to build a prototype and automate it based on processes used in the food industry, represented by a conveyor belt. Its function was to carry out the count and identify nonconformities in the position of packages, with the system operating through the Basic Step 1 microcontroller, and triggering the code through the On/Off control action, from the command of an algorithm developed in the software of the Basic Step BS1 compiler. The prototype was assembled from recycled materials, such as a treadmill carcass, black plastic canvas, harvester piston motor and wooden blocks. The liquid crystal display, relay and contactor were interconnected in a contact matrix forming the integrated circuit, which after its construction was connected to the prototype to carry out tests and verify performance. All the components used worked correctly during the test stages, the prototype identified the positioning of the boxes and carried out the count, deactivating the system when the packages were incorrectly positioned. The project proved to be an alternative of simple construction and low cost, which can be applied in small industries.
