Women are increasingly integrated into the labor market, although the leading role is still played by men, with the existence of several gender inequality relations represented in major milestones, including historical ones. Thus, this study aimed to know the perception of professionalism and female employability from the perspective of students of the bachelor's degree courses in Accounting and Administration of a private HEI in a municipality of the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza. To this end, we used an exploratory, cross-sectional and descriptive research, with a quantitative approach, developed through interviews with 60 students of the Accounting Sciences (n=30; 50%) and Administration (n= 30; 50%) courses of a private HEI. The results showed that gender inequality in labor relations is still present in Brazil, especially in relation to the low number of women in leadership roles. The double shift was pointed out as the main complicating factor for the insertion of women in the labor market, as well as the recognition of male supremacy, especially in leadership functions. Finally, it is recognized that gender inequality in labor relations still exists in Brazilian society both within organizations and in the intimate of men and women.
