The importance of the Manchester protocol in the role of nurses in the urgency and emergency unit

The Manchester protocol is one of the tools that enable the assessment of patients, and in nursing it is essential to provide humanized care, based on agility so that adequate services are provided in view of the exposure to the risks of diseases and of the hospital unit itself. The aim of this article is to analyze the importance of the Manchester health protocol and its impact on the organization of nursing care. Therefore, the integrative literature review research methodology is used, with the application of qualitative and analytical research methods, through the development of inclusion and exclusion criteria taking into account the publication period, accessibility to the content and reliability of the material. used. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 10 articles were selected to be analyzed in this review article, so that they present the Manchester protocol helps healthcare professionals and help to improve their knowledge about risk classification in emergency care, and enable the care of the most serious cases. Thus, it was concluded that the Manchester protocol is important to manage the actions of nurses in classifying the health status of patients, in addition to enabling the humanization of care, as it differentiates and classifies the degree of urgency of each patient.
