With the growth of information technology and artificial intelligence growth, a series of new technologies emerged to assist and improve business management of economic sectors, such as the petrol industry, which significantly influences the Brazilian economic growth. The raw material has a high cost of extraction and is also classified as a rare commodity to be found in nature. The neural networks have great importance in increasing the amount and security of petrol extraction, not only for employees involved in the process but also for the environment. It happens because the technology, accompanied by statistical analysis, can process numerous data besides working simply, providing crucial information for improvements in petroleum exploration. Furthermore, several environmental problems are corroborated by oil emissions into the atmosphere, including contributing to phenomena such as ocean acidification and global warming. Within this context, the present research addresses the usage of neural networks for the petrol companies' financial analysis in 2018. The research's methodology is descriptive and quantitative to provide scientific validation. Conclusions are presented with the main results achieved during the research, the methodology's main limitations and future research perspective.
