Tropical woods have great market demand, the average volumetric yield coefficient per group of species varies between 25 to 30%. Therefore, the wood industry requires strategies to increase this coefficient, and consequently the use of wood in the industry. This work aimed to estimate the yield of four wood species in the company Mil Madeiras Preciosas Ltda, located in the municipality of Itacoatiara, Amazonas. Simple random sampling was directed to four species of interest such as: Angelim Pedra (Hymenolobium petraeum), Angelim Vermelho (Dinizia excelsa), Pequiá (Caryocar villosum (Aubl.) Pers) and Tauari Vermelho (Cariniana micrantha). The method used to calculate the volume of logs with bark was the geometric method, based on the Smalian formula (CONAMA Resolution No. 411/09). Thus, the species had an average volumetric yield coefficient of 49.31%, in the company's sawdust line. This may be related to the techniques used, ranging from tracing to the split of the log in the sawdust line, as well as the quality of the logs used in the study.
