Barriers and health law perspectives for chain development of aquaculture in Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul

Brazil has growth potential for the fish sector, due to favorable natural conditions, climate, geography, biodiversity and plenty of water. Fish farming has gained visibility in Dourados/MS and the region, achieving growth in fish production. This work aims to discuss the health and the quality of fish, the laws that regulate the sanitary inspection service of animal products and the policies adopted to production and marketing of fish in Dourados and surroundings. There was the analysis of some sanitary norms and relevant legislations Health Inspection Service. The data and discussions showed that it policies, actions and health standards are necessary and essential to maintaining the quality and fish health, to ensure consolidation, the technical, economic and environmental of aquaculture enterprises in the city and region especially to small fish farmers.
