This study aims to analyze cultural and economic aspects of bobbin lace, a work performed by peasant women as a strategic way of living with the semiarid. The theoretical framework that underpins the work is supported by Deheinzelin's (2006) work on creative economy, as well as Brazilian law by his Secretariat for Creative Economy; the pluriactivity theme by Schneider (2006) and crafts based on Pereira (1979). Methodologically, structured interviews were used for data collection to compose the identification of the profile and workshop in the format of a conversation wheel, with the intention of gathering elements of analysis of cultural aspects and the relationship with the productive seasonality of the development of the craft activity carried out by the women. In addition to the research conducted through bibliographic data for the formulation of the theoretical framework, using elaborated materials. As a result, it was noticed that, despite low annual gains, the activity demonstrates economic profitability, proving profitability for the lacemakers who develop it. Bobbin lace retains cultural characteristics of its origin in which women sit on the cushion to craft each piece. It is concluded that the identification of new marketing channels and the creation of a local entity capable of maintaining greater production volume and bargaining power, as well as the stimulation of specific capacities of management, leadership and market research are necessary. Thus, with the spread of the Creative Economy, a new economic thinking of the activities emerges, taking into account the basis of the cultural richness of the localities in Brazil.
