This work sought to evaluate the technical feasibility of using açaí residue as a stabilizer for a granular soil. For this, soil mixtures made up of percentages of 0%, 10% and 20% of açaí residue were studied, in terms of the total dry mass of the mixture. It was characterized the material "in natura" and its compositions alluding to the geotechnical properties (granulometry, liquidity limit, plasticity and compaction) and mechanical resistance, California Support Index (CBR) and resistance to unconfined compression (RCNC). The results indicated that there was a significant improvement in the properties of the regional soil when added by the açaí residue, from the physical and mechanical point of view, with emphasis on the sample with addition of 20% of residue.
