The present work aims to collect data on studies carried out on the Pantanal soils, presenting the main topics addressed, results and contributions to the understanding of the soil properties, strengths and weaknesses of this ecosystem. The research was developed through consultations in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and Web of Science databases using the descriptors 'Soils of the Pantanal', 'Fragilities of the Pantanal soils' and 'Potentialities of the Pantanal soils', their combinations and variants in English. The study included articles published since 2012. In the SCIELO database, 20 articles were found, 15 in Portuguese and 05 in English, only 10 were selected because they are related to the study proposal. In the Web of Science database, 14 articles were found, 9 of which were chosen because they deal specifically with the 'soils of the Pantanal'. No articles were found with the descriptors ‘Pantanal soil weaknesses’ and ‘Pantanal soil potentialities’ in both bases. Of the 17 articles surveyed: 6 dealt with soil classification, 4 with soil variation in different areas, 3 with the effects of flooding on CO2 concentration and 1 approach with regard to soil genesis in different areas, with the effects of changes in land use. soil, the influence of litter and soils affected by salt. The researched articles made it possible to study the relevant data published in recent years, allowing a greater understanding of the Pantanal biome, with a view to its sustainability.
