This work addresses the use of strips of carton packs as an addition to concrete. To evaluate the influence of the addition of strips on the characteristics of the concrete, traces containing the addition of 3%, 5% and 9% of strips from carton packs were studied, in relation to the cement mass. The specimens were made in triplicate and cured for 28 days. Throughout the curing process, they were evaluated at 7, 21 and 28 days, for compressive strength testing and cone slump test. The results showed that the addition of strips of carton packs decreases the compressive strength of concrete, and increases the porosity of the material. In this way, the results indicate that the addition of waste from carton packaging is an alternative for the destination of this waste, within the concept of circular economy, presenting a potential for applicability of the porous material in areas of water absorption.
