As well as several other municipalities that make up the Semi-arid region, Camalaú-PB, is susceptible to the process of desertification, which, in addition to the natural conditions that make this process possible, the dynamics in the transformation of its geographic space by the insertion of a non-sustainable model agricultural production has further intensified the pace of environmental degradation, causing significant changes in its landscape. To analyze these changes through the observation of three variables (Savanna Formation, Mosaic of Agriculture and Pasture and Other Non-Vegetated Areas), the geoprocessing of satellite images and the analysis of time series are presented as a fundamental tool to support these studies. This article aimed to analyze the temporal behavior of the Caatinga Biome in the municipality of Camalaú-PB between the years 1985-2019, based on the geoprocessing of Landsat images processed by MapBiomas and statistical analysis of Mann-Kendall and Pettit for trend analysis and breaking, thus enabling a possible understanding of the agents causing the alteration of the Caatinga Biome, through discussions on changes in the landscapes of the municipality under study. Through the studies, it was noticed a considerable decrease in the Savanic Formation, a subtle increase in areas with Mosaic of Agriculture and Pasture, in addition to an increase in Other Non-Vegetated Areas.
