The present study analyzed the sub-basin of the River Km 119 in the municipality of Campo Mourão, State of Paraná – PR. Problems existing in the study area were raised and the physical characteristics (morphometrics) were calculated. The proportions of land use and conflicts in the sub-basin that must be recovered taking into account environmental legislation were analyzed. The EUPS was applied with the aid of geoprocessing techniques and, finally, a prognosis of the problems was carried out and solutions were proposed. In the literature, several problems have been discussed, such as the increase in urban population that led to human pollution and the consequent contamination in the sub-basin of the Km 119 River, as well as soil erosion, the degradation of riparian vegetation and the occupation of Permanent Preservation Areas ( APP), causing environmental impacts at the study site. The results found allowed us to observe the conflicts of land use and the lack of urban planning is one of the problems that aggravate the degradation of natural resources throughout the study area. Agriculture and urbanization have been expanding towards the river, thus reducing the area of vegetation present around the water body. One of the alternatives to manage this conflict is the creation of Conservation Units to promote inspection and monitoring in order to seek the balance of the ecosystem with sustainability.
