(Re) knowledge of financial education and personal finance of graduates in Administration and Accounting Sciences in Recife/PE: a preliminary study in two faculties in Recife/PE

Research on financial education and personal finance is recurrent, and considering that the courses of Administration and Accounting Are pretty expressive and the leading higher education courses that have the theme of finance in their pedagogical proposals, and this article presents the results of a research that sought to identify the perception of the students of these courses on financial education and personal finance. For the development of this study, the method used had a quantitative and descriptive approach. As a result, a reasonable level of knowledge was identified, and most of the acquisition of this knowledge happens from magazine, book, television, radio, and by the internet; the student has an understanding of the effect of compound interest over time and that most of them, despite knowing the importance of planning the future, did not put it into practice. In general, there is an understanding of financial education and personal finance among the university students interviewed, but there is no consensus. Therefore, it is appropriate that universities explore more the realization of learning activities on this theme.
