Pressure injury in bedroom patients: prevention and nurse action

This article discusses the causes of pressure injuries and the role of nurses in this area, considering that this professional actively works in the treatment and prevention of these injuries. Discuss the types of pressure injuries and the main ways to recognize them and describe the role of nurses in interventions and professional settings appropriate for the situation. This is an integrative literature review, with the application of analytical and qualitative research methods, with articles published between the years 2016-2022. The analyzed articles demonstrate that pressure ulcers can be prevented through prevention protocols, which involve changing positions every two hours, changing positions, controlling humidity, applying the Braden scale. Therefore, it is understood that understanding the stage of pressure injury and developing a care plan is the most effective mechanism to treat patients affected by this complication.
