Studying the work of nursing in obstetric care is essential, as several aspects need to be monitored in women's health. It is noteworthy that women's health care is not only linked to childbirth and the birth of a child, it is beyond, linked to sexuality, reproduction, conception, disease prevention, care in the maternal period. Taking into account the possibilities of nurses' performance, it is highlighted that the objective of this work is to analyze the work performed by nurses in obstetric care. For this, an integrative review of the literature was carried out, to carry out the search for studies, the following databases were used: NCBI/PubMed (National Center for BiotechnologyInformation), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Lirary Online), Google Scholar and Lilacs - Bireme ( Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences). Inclusion criteria were used to define the content: articles available in full, in Portuguese and English, from 2015 to 2021 with free access and relevant to the theme. In this scenario, 10 articles were selected after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria to be analyzed in this review article. In these studies, it was noticed that nurses actively work in the promotion of obstetric health, that their professional interference is linked not only to the puerperium, but also to preventive and repressive care. Thus, it was possible to perceive that obstetric health requires specialized attention for diagnosis, treatment and perception of needs.
