The objective of the present research was to associate the survival and growth of tree seedlings Rhizophora mangle L, Avicennia germinans (L.) Stearn and Laguncularia racemosa (L.) Gaertn. F. with the chemical and physical characteristics of the soil, In deforested areas of mangrove. The experiment was installed in the community of Tamatateua, in the municipality of Bragança-Pará. The seedlings used in the experimental area were taken from a nursery located in an area adjacent to the experiment. The design was randomized blocks with 3 treatments (3 species) and 6 replicates. Each experimental plot consisted of 20 seedlings, spaced 1.0 m between plants and 1.0 m between rows. Totalizing 360 seedlings, being 120 per block. The data were analyzed by the program PRIMER v6. The abiotic variables were applied to Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and the relationship between biotic and abiotic data was established using the BIOENV procedure that calculated the Spearman correlation coefficient. The results showed that, due to the location of the blocks, soil physicochemical conditions contributed positively to the growth of R. mangle, A. germinans, L. racemosa, but in the present research it was evident that the joint action of the physical and chemical parameters of the environment is complex to a more precise conclusion about the survival and development of the seedlings of these species, since one factor can act synergistically or antagonistically with other factors.
