This study presents an integrated geospatial analysis of the multiple uses of water in the municipalities located in the Tapajos River basin (in the Amazon basin), with emphasis on secondary data on gross domestic product (GDP), agricultural activity, water consumption in industry, for human supply and hydroelectric power generation that were obtained from the electronic systems of IBGE, ANA, INIS, ANEEL, SIDRA, MDR and BIG. The methodology was adequate to obtain an integrated diagnosis of the hydrographic basin. The results show the high degree of fragmentation along the basin. A higher concentration of activities with consequent higher pressures on water resources is evident in the upper-middle course and lower pressures in the lower-middle course of the basin, due to the effect of protected areas. The main scenarios of multiple use in the region are not favorable to the sustainable management of water resources in the Tapajos River basin, as they make its recharge zone more vulnerable to intense land use and greater water consumption for the productive sector (agriculture and hydroelectric power) and human supply, requiring temporal and spatial monitoring in the basin by the states and municipalities, reinforcing the need to establish or strengthen instruments for water regulation.
