The squall line (LI) is a line of cloudiness containing regions of deep convection, which may or may not be continuous, that propagate in mesoscale. This research analyzes the thermodynamics of the atmosphere using some instability indices such as: total totals (TT), K, showalter (SWI), lift index (LI) and available convective potential energy (CAPE), before, during and after the passage of an LI in the city of Boa vista-RR, on 07/01/2022. The data used came from radio soundings carried out at synoptic times and the analysis of the thermodynamic structure of the atmosphere was performed using Skew T log P diagrams. The results show differences in the thermodynamic profiles of the atmosphere, between the times studied, the thermodynamic diagram showed that, since the beginning of the day, the atmosphere was already humid, in a favorable state for the formation of intense convection. The conclusion of this work was that the instability indices presented excellent results regarding the stability and instability of the atmosphere, in the respective studied times.
