Impacts of covid-19 on the actions of Brazilian Airlines

With the spread of COVID-19 and when it was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, social isolation measures had to be admitted and air traffic was significantly affected. The purpose of this research was to analyze the consequences caused on the share prices of two major publicly traded airlines, Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. and Azul SA. This was an exploratory and quantitative research and data from the Yahoo finance website for the first half of the years 2019 and 2020 were considered, being considered for the results the weekly average of the values of the shares, Azul SA and Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes SA For data tabulation, the Excel software was used and the graphs were made to analyze the variations. The results indicated that when comparing the shares of the first half of 2019 with the first half of 2020 of the airlines Azul and Gol, a significant drop in the share values of both companies is perceived. It is concluded that there was a drastic drop in the share values of the two companies compared to the previous year.
