The mangrove is a strong landscape element of the coastlines, but gradually loses its space to landfill policies attributed to urban and industrial expansion, road construction, wood extraction, such actions compromise the activity of collecting crustaceans and molluscs carried out by part of the population of traditional communities. But despite all ecological and social importance, this habitat suffers anthropogenic disturbances around the world and in Brazil there are several reported cases of negative impacts, which compromise this ecosystem, so researchers began to implement projects to investigate the recovery of this ecosystem. This research objective to evaluate the development stage of the propagule and seedlings in a deforested area of mangroves and to verify the efficiency of the use of artificial fixatives to avoid eventual removal of propagules and seedlings of Rhizophora mangle (red mangrove) by the tide. The experiment was installed in the community of Taperaçu-Campo, in the municipality of Bragança/PA. The adopted design was completely randomized with 4 methods and 4 replications. Each experimental plot consisted of 25 seedlings/seedling spaced 1.0 m between plants and 1.0 m between rows. The collected experimental data were submitted to normality tests and did not indicate the need for transformation, they were tested in the statistical package Primer v 0.6, the obtained data of survival and growth in height in the rainy and dry periods were presented with the average values and deviations - corresponding pattern. It was concluded from the results that the percentage and average survival of Rhizophora mangle seedlings in the different methods were higher in the rainy season, contrasting, however, with the high mortality rate of seedlings at the end of the dry season; the use of artificial fixatives did not favor the fixation and establishment of the propagules of the Rhizophora species. mangle, thus compromising the survival of the species in the deforested area.
