The traditional Pantanal community of Mimoso, located in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso, holds knowledge and practices inherited and accumulated from their indigenous and non-indigenous ancestors. The experience in the world with the domain of waters, such as the swamp, allows unique experiences present in this community that can reveal the daily life, the way of life, work, beliefs, myths, and the interrelationships that express the meeting of nature and society. In this study we seek to understand the social and environmental relationships and cultural manifestations established in their living space. The investigation was qualitative, and the selection of people was based on the snowball method, where 29 interlocutors participated in semi-structured interviews between the months of February 2019 and March 2020. The participant observation was carried out in the homes of five families, where it was experienced their daily lives and the narratives of their life stories, and in other socialization environments such as conversation circles and biocultural products fair. In this way, it was possible to know how they live, what the customs and practices of this population are. The community presented traditional knowledge and practices in their daily lives identified through biocultural products and values and feelings of belonging that led them to call themselves mimoseans.
