The occurrence of extreme exclusion events in the State of Rio de Janeiro reinforces the importance of studies related to these events, especially when thinking about the dimensioning of hydraulic works. In this sense, Normal (N), Log-Normal 2-parameter (LN) and Gumbel for Maximum (GM) probability distributions were fitted to the maximum daily rate data from 6 stations distributed throughout the State of Rio de Janeiro, totaling 28 years of data. The data were captured from the National Network of Surface Meteorological Observations of the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). After adjustment, they were estimated as maximum daily rainfall for different return times. The adherence of the distributions was evaluated by the Chi-Square Test. The results found that all distributions were found. The GM distribution was the best fit in all stations, with the exception of the Avelar and Itaperuna stations, where the best distribution was the LN. The highest volumes of maximum daily elimination estimated took place at the stations of Avelar, Resende and Rio de Janeiro, values are greater than 200 mm for a return time of 500 years, showing a potential for tragedies related to extreme events of connection before. The lowest daily maximum rainfall occurred at Campos and Cordeiro stations, with values between 130.70 mm and 199.17 mm, for return times of 25 and 500 years, respectively, at Itaperuna station, for the same return times, the Maximum daily calculation varies between 114 mm to 148 mm.
