This research was carried out in a technology-based business incubator located in Rio Grande do Sul, and aimed to analyze the different forms of interaction between those involved in the business incubation process. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and applied to the founders of incubated startups, focusing on their life history, professional trajectory and the incubation process. Data were analyzed using the technique of content analysis of interviews, based on Bardin (2011). As a result, it was possible to identify, from the perspective of the founders, the different forms of interaction that occur within the incubator, enabling the analysis of positive points such as: good relationship between the incubators and the direction of the incubator; and barriers to be overcome in the incubation process, such as: interaction needs with investors and development agencies. From this, it was possible to draw up an action plan to streamline the different forms of interaction in a business incubator. As a practical implication, this research contributes to a better understanding of the incubation process, and the role of incubators for the development of companies in formation, in order to consolidate them and make them competitive in the market.
