Conservation Units (CUs) are the main strategies of public management to maintain biodiversity and provision of ecosystem services exist. Among the various categories can highlight the parks, whether national, state or local. The aim of this study was to value monetarily vector northern area Itacolomi State Park (PEIT), known as Serrinha, an area formed by a complex of waterfalls predominantly used by the population of Mariana, MG. Used the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) based on Willingness to pay (WTP) to preserve the area. The results obtained for the area were Serrinha the WPA to R$ 9,75 (U$ 4,26) and EV with R$ 1.933.119,83 (U$ 826.402,16). It is noteworthy that the Valuation Methodologies of Natural Services, are increasingly used, despite showing inaccuracies, but it has been recommended by presenting fundamental arguments that the government may be pressured to care for and preserve properly the environmental goods.
