Diagnosis on remote work in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) is the federal public entity responsible for managing public policies to encourage agriculture and livestock, thus conducting a series of administrative actions with a view to making the implementation of these policies feasible. Considering its importance, the purpose of this work was to analyze the remote work of servers working in the management of MAPA agreements during the COVID-19 pandemic period and to propose actions that improve their productivity. The population of this study consists of public servants and this has an applied nature, with a descriptive objective, qualitative/quantitative approach, through the application of a questionnaire addressing personal and professional aspects, related to working time remotely, to the support to perform working remotely, the degree of satisfaction with the support, the possibility of performing the activity remotely, the impact on productivity during the pandemic period, the improvement in the work routine due to the home office and the interest in maintaining the remote work. The methodologies adopted in this work were: questionnaire, exploratory data analysis and unsupervised machine learning precisely the K-means algorithm. Exploratory data analysis contributed to the reduction of data inconsistencies and to the robust result of unsupervised machine learning. The results of the questionnaire applied to MAPA employees showed improvements in their work, increased productivity and interest in maintaining remote work after returning from face-to-face activities.
