Relationship between extracurricular activities and labor market: an integrative literature review

This paper aims to analyze how scientific publications discuss the relationship between Extracurricular Activities (EA) and professional formation in the business field for the labor market, believing that this will foment participation in EA, besides facilitating the student’s professional planning during his graduation. With this objective, the research fulfilled an integrative review (IR). After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, eleven (11) articles were selected to compose the sample. These articles indicate the importance of extracurricular activities not only in the development of students' professional skills but in the creation of a networking and entrepreneur profile. Finally, it suggests comparative studies between students who participated and those who did not in EA. Such studies may foment more investments in these activities as a viable and feasible alternative to minimize the gap between the interim of the educational environment and what is demanded by the business market.
