Abstract

This article aims to present a comprehensive research framework of papers on “ Sustainable University Management” published between the years 2006 and 2019. Using the “Web of Science”database and “CitNetExplorer” software we mapped scientific production using bibliometric analysis. Through graphic visualization it was possible for us to compare and identify core authors and research on “Sustainable University management”. Analysis results allowed us to sort the studies into three groups: (1) papers that propose ways of assessing sustainability in universities, (2) papers that reflect on sustainability, discussing its concepts and (3) papers that link publications related to sustainable university management, presenting multiple strategies, inspection models and partnerships between community and university. Our paper’s analysis helps identify possible gaps in research and aids researchers that are interested in its theme, either focusing on comprehending its concepts and critical reflection or focusing on coming up with strategies, tools of assessment and sustainable management innovations in the context of universities. Universities may use this study to establish the guidelines both for their sustainable actions and their curriculums, moving towards a new format of professional formation, one that aims not only at peak economical development but also social and environmental.

Possui graduação em Administração de Empresas pela Universidade Federal de Campina Grande (2004) e mestrado em Gestão Organizacional pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (2013). Atualmente é administrador da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande. Tem experiência na área de Administração, com ênfase em Administração de Recursos Humanos, atuando principalmente no seguinte tema: inovação.
