Historically, populations that survive in the Brazilian semi-arid region are subject to climatic, economic and social vulnerabilities. These difficulties are greater for family farmers, who have the difficult task of cultivating the land in an environment whose predominant characteristic is irregular rainfall, temporally and spatially, in addition to the occurrence of shallow soils, with crystalline outcropping, high temperatures and also the use history of rudimentary cultivation techniques, in addition to the negligence of public authorities. This work aimed at conducting the Region of the Middle Course of the Paraíba River, the evaluation and mapping of agricultural production and its distribution using geographic information system and IBGE data of municipal agricultural production. The productive areas identified by the pumpkin were 1.18% of the total area; fava beans 2.20%; common beans 24.30%; cassava 0.53%; maize 17.96%; maize forage 1.30%; palma forage 11.19%; sorghum 0.39%; and sorghum forage 5.57% from the total area of the basin. Of a total of production area of 4.385 ha declared, the municipalities of Queimadas, Pocinhos and Campina Grande are highlighted in the production of bean, corn and palm forage cultures, respectively. Farmers mostly obtained the highest production of fodder for animal feed.
