In times of global warming and climate change, where sustainable attitudes and methods should be increasingly present in everyday life, there is still a scarcity of sustainable buildings, either due to the lack of information or the desire to pay less for the work. It is necessary the preliminary study of the local climate, as well as the use of materials and regional professionals, aiming that the sustainability beyond the environmental fields, also fits economic and social fields. There is still a lack of studies on the thermal behavior of building materials in front of the local meteorological framework that allows the more frequent use of these architectural components, aiming to obtain spaces with good housing conditions, especially in residential and commercial buildings. Green buildings involve sourcing practices that increase the efficiency of buildings, so as to utilize nature to their advantage, harnessing natural energies from the sun and wind and incorporating them into the project, thus creating buildings with reduced use of energy, water. and materials and thus reducing environmental impacts. In Pará, there are two Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design / LEED certified buildings: Shopping Bosque Grão-Pará (Belém's first sustainable shopping mall and the country's first silver LEED); and the Infinite Tower (the first sustainable commercial building in the Amazon, where the administrative headquarters of Norsk Hydro Brazil operates). These buildings are guiding the capital toward sustainable construction, bringing competition in this environment and leading other builders and customers to think about the benefits of acting and building for future well-being, both for problem prevention and economy, and for the purpose. to contribute to this journey to improve the environment in which we live.
