Fundamentalist analysis in investment evaluation and corporate efficiency

Abstract

Aeris Energy is the leading manufacturer of rotor blades for power turbines in Brazil, headquartered in the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém, in the state of Ceará. Committed to sustainable development, with investments in technology and strengthening the energy sector, since its creation in 2012, the company has been instrumental in the economic growth of the region and has already produced enough blades to equip wind farms with a capacity greater than the Itaipu hydroelectric power plant. The study aims to conduct a financial analysis of Aeris Energy, to evaluate whether the organization is in a favorable or unfavorable context for the appreciation of its business. Specifically, indicators were calculated based on financial reports, as well as the market risk disparity between investing in Aeris Energy stocks and investing in aggregated stocks in the Bovespa Index. The fundamental analysis revealed recent uninspiring operational results, raising concerns about the financial results to be reported in the year 2023. However, Aeris has solid sector fundamentals, competitive advantages, and a leading position with 62% of the market share. It is expected that the company will show an increase in production volumes, allowing for better utilization of investments made in recent years. Success will depend on the maturation of production lines and efficient management of working capital to recover historical levels of return on investment.
