An examination of the labor market can show that women occupy positions in many, most diverse areas in companies and organizations. However, this growing achievement by women – finding their own space in the organizational context – did not eliminate the violence against women in the workplace. Consequently, a more critical look is needed when analyzing this scenario. This research sought out to understand the main organizational types of violence against women in the context of the Brazilian patriarchal culture and how violence manifests in the workplace. In order to do so, a social media monitoring was carried out following the interpretivist paradigm. The analysis shows that harassment, prejudice against women who are mothers, the salary gap between men and women, a “double shift” (at work and at home) and sexism are the main organizational types of violence suffered by women. Following these results, this research contributes to informing society that the struggle for gender equality in the workplace is still needed.
