Although process management has been accepted by most private organizations, in the public service it is a recent and interesting subject to be explored. The aim of this study sought to highlight the development of process management initiatives in the public service. The methodology used is bibliometric research, with a quantitative approach, exploratory and deductive method, with secondary data analysis, whose technique and data collection instrument involved bibliographic research of articles published in the Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo databases, through the CAPES Portal. The research started from the following thematic axes ‘Process Management’ and ‘Public Service’ with their variations in English, Portuguese and Spanish. The search results were able to identify 48 articles, which were organized using Microsoft Excel software spreadsheets, for further detailed analysis of 4 measurements: year of publication, recognition of journals, authors with higher productivity linked to the most prominent country, and keywords. It was found that the theme has become popular in the public service and with a greater occurrence os publications from 2015, with Germany being the country that stands out in publications by researchers. As limitations, articles in other languages were not selected, except English, Portuguese and Spanish, they are also not part of this survey: theses, dissertations, books, book chapters and 16 articles that were not fully available online (8 from each database of data - Scopus and Web of Science). For future research, a deeper analysis only of Brazilian public institutions was suggested.
