This research aims to identify the challenges faced by women when assuming leadership positions in organizations based on a literature review in the databases SciELO and Google Scholar (2016-2021). It is necessary to consider the difficulties faced by women, also based on historical and social aspects, especially after they assume this type of position in companies. Regarding the methodology, the research is of a basic nature with an exploratory objective and a qualitative approach, with bibliographic procedures following a modality of systematic review of the literature in a narrative perspective. The study considers that the challenges, prejudices and skills present in the lives of women who assume leadership positions provide debates and a critical perception that helps in the recurrent changes in the business world regarding the insertion and permanence of the female figure in high positions management.
